MECÁNICA BRAÑOSERA EXPANDS ITS CAPABILITIES WITH THE ADDITION OF A NEW 5-AXIS MACHINING CENTER

11 February, 2025

Mecánica Brañosera has strengthened its production capacity with the addition of a new DMU 75 five-axis machining center, manufactured by DMG Mori, at its plant in Requejo, Cantabria. The company already had a machine of this model and has decided to add an additional unit as part of its innovation and technological improvement plan.

The new machine features advanced specifications that enhance precision and efficiency in machining processes. Its main characteristics include an X/Y/Z travel range of 750 x 650 x 560 mm and a rapid linear axis feed rate of 40,000 mm/min. Additionally, it has a tilting NC rotary table and a SK49 motor spindle with a speed of 18,000 rpm, 130 Nm torque, and a power of 35 kW (40% ED).

The 3D control system is based on DMG Mori's Celos® technology, featuring a 21.5” ERGOline® display and the Siemens 840D solutionline system, allowing for advanced management of manufacturing processes. The machine also integrates the Machine Protection Control (MPC) system, which enhances operational safety and extends equipment lifespan.

In terms of capacity, the machining center can handle workpieces of up to 840 x 1,300 x 500 mm and supports loads of up to 600 kg. Its Ø 650 table in 800 x 650 mm has a swivel range of -10° to +95°, providing great versatility in the production of highly complex components.

With this investment, Mecánica Brañosera strengthens its position in the precision machining sector, committing to advanced technological solutions that enable it to tackle more demanding projects and consolidate its competitiveness in the industry.

Mecánica Brañosera is a Cantabrian company specialized in precision machining using CAD, CAM, and CNC technologies. Founded in 1976, the company was established in Requejo to serve local industries such as metallurgy, cement, electrical, and biscuit manufacturing, as well as coal mining in northern Palencia. Over the years, the company has experienced significant growth, investing in computer numerical control (CNC) machinery and expanding its workforce. Currently, it operates two production plants, totaling more than 2,600 m² of facilities equipped with advanced technology.
