Industrial Recense, of A Pontenova, was among the winners of the third edition of the National Connected Industry 4.0 Awards held by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism through its General Secretariat of Industry and SMEs, to acknowledge the efforts and merits of Spanish industrial companies who have achieved business excellence in their activity in the field of digital transformation. The company based in A Pontenova won in the industrial SME category. The award in the large industrial corporation category went to Celsa Group.
Recense was founded in 1953 by Germán López. In 1980 it embarked on an expansion phase, shifting from being a predominantly hand-crafting business into a more industrial factory, incorporating a high-tech machinery line. Another stage of growth began in 1999, with the transfer of the facilities to an industrial park, investing in new technologies and products, including customised goods, to meet client demands. Thus the market increased, incorporating brands (Aisrec and Stonerec) and signing a distribution agreement with Dutch company Terwa, dedicating a large part of its production to exports.
